A British brand founded in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland. The roots of Ted Baker London are humble.
Founder and designer of the Ted Baker brand, Ray Kelvin first opened up shop in the Scottish city of Glasgow where he specialed in tailoring, designing and making smart shirts for men. His small shop quickly became renowned for selling the best and most contemporary shirts around.
From the offset, the backbone of the Ted Baker brand has been maintaining consistent high-quality garments for men and women. With quality being a high focus of the brand, design and style was also a top priority. Through Ted Bakers decades and decades of collections, we often see feminine and quirky designs throughout, which feature in the luxurious silk interiors of coats and handbags.
A saying which has become a strong philosophy of Ted Baker is “No Ordinary Designer Label”. This is due to Ray Kelvins strong need for the brand to keep to its roots and showcase its quality and quirky nature. One fun fact about the brand is that when the first few stores opened in Manchester, Nottingham and Covent Garden; each shirt that was purchased from the store was given a complimentary lifetime laundry service by the store.
